2026 MLB World Series Betting Guide: Odds, Picks, and Predictions

World Series trophy between the Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays logos in a ballpark at night

The 2026 World Series is set: the Milwaukee Brewers won the National League pennant, and the Tampa Bay Rays came out of the American League. Milwaukee is the betting favorite at -180 at DraftKings as of Friday morning, October 23, 2026, with Tampa Bay at +160, and my pick is the Brewers to win the series in six games.

Tampa Bay is back in the Fall Classic for the first time since 2020, while the Brew Crew is playing for a title for the first time since 1982. Neither franchise has ever won the World Series, so somebody is getting a first parade. This World Series betting guide walks through the prices, the matchups and the bets I like, then lands on a final World Series prediction.

⚾
The Short Version

Brewers to win the series at -180 needs Milwaukee to win about 64% of the time to break even (BetMGM and BetRivers are a step cheaper at -175). My card adds Christian Yelich for World Series MVP (+2500), Over 5.5 total games (-180) and the exact result Brewers 4-2 (+360). Game 1 is Friday, October 23, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX from American Family Field, with Jacob Misiorowski facing Nick Martinez.

2026 World Series Odds: Who Is Favored to Win?

The Milwaukee Brewers are favored to win the 2026 World Series. They finished the regular season with the best record in baseball at 103-59, then swept the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. Here is the series price at three licensed books:

Team DraftKings BetMGM BetRivers Break-even at DraftKings
Milwaukee Brewers-180-175-17564.3%
Tampa Bay Rays+160+150+14538.5%

Prices are from the morning of October 23, 2026, and they have moved steadily toward Milwaukee since the matchup was set. DraftKings opened the series at Brewers -155 on October 19, moved to -160 on October 20 and -165 on October 21, and now sits at -180. Lines can keep moving up to first pitch, so it pays to compare prices across the top MLB betting sites before you bet: BetMGM and BetRivers have Milwaukee at -175 this morning. You can also back the Brewers one game at a time instead of laying the series price, though Game 1 costs more, at -179 to -200 depending on the book.

How Does the Brewers vs. Rays World Series Matchup Break Down?

This matchup is like looking in a mirror. Both teams win with strong pitching and timely offense, and they finished first and second in baseball in batting average. The Brewers won more games and just got past the mighty Dodgers, so the context around each edge matters more than usual. Here is how I score the three big areas:

Starting Pitchers (Edge: Brewers)

Both rotations are a big reason these teams made it this far, but there’s only one Miz. Milwaukee can turn to ace Jacob Misiorowski, who was sensational during the regular season: a 1.80 ERA, 252 strikeouts and a 0.80 WHIP over 174.2 innings. He wasn’t quite as sharp against L.A. in the NLCS, lasting 4.1 innings with three walks in Game 1, but a return to form would give the Brew Crew a distinct advantage.

  • Logan Henderson (MIL): a 2.47 ERA over 98.1 regular-season innings across 18 starts.
  • Robert Gasser (MIL): a 1.00 ERA across nine innings in this playoff run, including five scoreless innings in NLCS Game 3.
  • Drew Rasmussen (TB): dominant this October, with a 1.29 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 21 innings.
  • Freddy Peralta (TB): the former Brewers ace started 2026 with the Mets, landed in Tampa Bay midseason and was named ALCS MVP after a 1.08 postseason ERA in 16.2 innings.

Game 1 sets up in Milwaukee’s favor: Misiorowski starts against Nick Martinez, with Rasmussen lined up for Game 2 and Peralta saved for Tropicana Field. That pitching matchup is the main reason the Game 1 moneyline is steeper than the series price.

The Rays have their weapons at the top, but Milwaukee goes deeper with reliable arms. That depth is why I give the Brewers this edge.

Bullpen (Edge: Brewers)

The Brewers have the best ace in this series, and they also have the stingier bullpen. The Dodgers scored 11 runs in the four NLCS games, and nine of them came in the first five innings. Milwaukee’s late-inning group of Aaron Ashby, Trevor Megill, DL Hall and JoJo Romero did not allow a run in the series.

  • Aaron Ashby: the breakout star of this run, with zero earned runs in 12.1 playoff innings, often working more than one inning at a time.
  • Trevor Megill: the closer, with 30 regular-season saves and four more this postseason without an earned run.
  • Abner Uribe: a 1.97 ERA in the regular season and a 2.84 ERA in the playoffs, where he allowed the only two late runs Los Angeles managed.

Milwaukee should win the bullpen battle, but the Rays are not bad in that department. Tampa Bay has a strong closer in Bryan Baker, who saved 41 games with a 1.44 ERA in the regular season and has not allowed an earned run across seven playoff innings. Cam Booser, Tyler Wells and Kevin Kelly round out a solid group.

Offense (Edge: Rays)

I’ll give this one to the Rays, but it’s very close. One look at the team leaderboards tells you why:

2026 Regular Season Brewers Rays
Batting average.258 (1st).258 (2nd)
Hits1,422 (1st)1,405 (2nd)
Stolen bases162 (5th)164 (tied 2nd)
Home runs154 (tied 28th)169 (22nd)
Strikeouts1,383 (20th fewest)1,145 (fewest)

Both of these teams know how to work a pitch count, get on base and take the extra bag once they get there. Tampa Bay undeniably has more star power in masher Junior Caminero, who hit 42 home runs, but its power thins out fast after him. Yandy Díaz and Jonathan Aranda (22 each) are the only other Rays with more than 20 long balls.

Milwaukee finished ahead of only Toronto in home runs during the regular season, and despite a power surge in the NLCS, the Brewers probably don’t want to get into a home run derby in this series.

Why the Tampa Bay Rays Can Win

The Rays can win because they play Milwaukee’s game nearly as well and bring a little more power. They won the AL East by five games, swept the Yankees in the ALDS and then outlasted the Cleveland Guardians in a six-game ALCS, so they have been tested in a longer series than Milwaukee’s four-game NLCS. Rasmussen and Peralta also give them enough pitching to match wits with the Brewers.

Tampa Bay is a patient, efficient offense that will be tough to keep off the bases. The Rays struck out less than any other team in the majors, and while the gap isn’t huge, they have the power edge. They also have the more recent World Series experience: they got to the Fall Classic in 2020 and pushed the eventual champion Dodgers to six games.

Why the Milwaukee Brewers Can Win

The Brewers can win because they are the better team. Tampa Bay’s style and production mirror theirs, but this Rays team is the knockoff version of the 2026 Brewers. Nobody plays small ball better than Milwaukee, and the Rays don’t have the same top-level starting pitching or the same nasty bullpen.

  • Best team all year: 103 wins, then a sweep of the defending champs that was not close in the late innings.
  • A long wait: the Dodgers knocked Milwaukee out of the NLCS in 2018 and 2025. This time the Brewers turned the tables, and they are finally in position to win the franchise’s first World Series.
  • Home-field advantage: Milwaukee’s better record means American Family Field hosts Games 1 and 2, plus Games 6 and 7 if needed.

That last point is the kicker. The Brewers have a rabid fan base that will be loud for the first two games. Unless Tampa Bay wins all three games at Tropicana Field, the Rays will have to win in Milwaukee to finish the job, and that is a tall order against this bullpen.

When Are the 2026 World Series Games?

The 2026 World Series starts Friday, October 23, in Milwaukee, and a Game 7 would be played Saturday, October 31. Every game airs on FOX. Here is the full schedule, per the official MLB postseason page:

*If necessary.

Who Won the Last 10 World Series?

The Dodgers won three of the last 10 titles, including the last two, and that is the team Milwaukee just swept. Only one of the last six World Series MVPs was a pitcher, which matters for the MVP bet below.

What Are the Best Bets for the 2026 World Series?

My four best bets for the 2026 World Series all lean on Milwaukee, with one longer price for a little upside. The series price is from DraftKings on October 23, 2026, and the other three are DraftKings prices from October 20 and 21:

  • Brewers to win the series (-180): needs about 64% to break even.
  • World Series MVP, Christian Yelich (+2500): needs about 4%.
  • Total games, Over 5.5 (-180): needs about 64%, and cashes if the series reaches Game 6.
  • Exact result, Brewers 4-2 (+360): needs about 22%.

Brewers to Win the World Series (-180)

I have the Brewers taking this thing, so naturally I like their price to win the 2026 World Series, even after the move from -160 to -180. Shop it first: BetMGM and BetRivers had Milwaukee at -175 on October 23. If you want to see how a series price compares to a string of single-game bets, our odds calculator converts any of these numbers into a payout and a break-even percentage.

World Series MVP: Christian Yelich (+2500)

With the Brewers as my pick, I lean toward a Milwaukee player for MVP. There are safer bets on this board, but World Series MVP is usually tough to predict, and only one pitcher has won it in the last six years. It could happen again for the second year in a row, but targeting a hitter to have a huge series is the better play.

Player DraftKings (Oct. 20-21) Break-even
Jackson Chourio, MIL+60014.3%
William Contreras, MIL+65013.3%
Junior Caminero, TB+75011.8%
Jacob Misiorowski, MIL+80011.1%
Brice Turang, MIL+90010.0%
Yandy Díaz, TB+10009.1%
Jonathan Aranda, TB+12007.7%
Jake Bauers, MIL+13007.1%
Drew Rasmussen, TB+20004.8%
Christian Yelich, MIL+25003.8%

Yelich feels like a really fun bet, both for the narrative and the price, and he is the longest Milwaukee price on that DraftKings list. He looked done for much of 2026, hitting .235 with 12 home runs, and he hit .182 in last year’s playoffs. He has come alive a bit this October, going 7-for-24 (.292). Could the aging star save his best for last and play a bigger hand than expected as the Brewers finally win the big one? At these odds, it’s a small ticket worth making.

Over 5.5 Games (-180) and Brewers 4-2 (+360)

I’m backing the Brewers, but I expect a competitive series. Milwaukee sliced through a stout Dodgers team in four straight games, and demanding that again just isn’t fair. Tampa Bay plays a similar style and has good pitching, so I think the Rays steal two games and keep this interesting.

My script: the Brewers go up 2-0 at home, the Rays climb back into it at Tropicana Field, and Milwaukee closes up shop in Game 6 back at American Family Field. That makes the Over 5.5 games and the exact 4-2 result two ways to bet the same read, with the exact result paying far more because it has to land on one specific outcome.

2026 World Series Prediction: Brewers in Six

My prediction is the Milwaukee Brewers (-180) over the Tampa Bay Rays in six games. The Brewers are the best team in baseball. Plenty of people cast them as the underdog story this October, but only because the Dodgers were the two-time defending champions and had already beaten Milwaukee in two NLCS matchups. The Brewers wrote a different ending this time.

Tampa Bay is a good team with a similar story, since the Rays have never won a championship either. They at least had a taste of it in 2020. The Brewers haven’t been here since 1982, and I don’t see them wasting the opportunity. For the longer view on why Milwaukee has been my title pick since the summer, see our August case for the Brewers as the best World Series bet, and for how series and award prices work, read our guide to futures betting.

One last thing: these are predictions, not promises. A seven-game series between two evenly matched lineups can turn on a single bloop single, so bet amounts you are comfortable losing and compare prices at BetMGM and the other licensed books before you place a bet.

Play Safe: Gambling should be fun, not stressful. Set limits, stick to your budget, and never chase losses. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 1-800-MY-RESET or visit ncpgambling.org. For more resources, see our Responsible Gambling page.

2026 World Series Betting FAQ

Here are quick answers to the questions bettors ask most before the Brewers and Rays get underway.

Who Is Favored to Win the 2026 World Series?

The Milwaukee Brewers. They were -180 at DraftKings on the morning of October 23, 2026, with the Tampa Bay Rays at +160, while BetMGM and BetRivers had Milwaukee at -175. DraftKings opened the series at Brewers -155 on October 19.

Who Do You Think Will Win the 2026 World Series?

We think the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays in six games. Milwaukee’s bullpen, deeper starting rotation and home-field advantage give the Brewers the edge, though the Rays have the better power bats.

What Are the Best Bets to Make on the 2026 World Series?

Our favorite bets are the Brewers to win the series (-180), Milwaukee to win the series 4-2 (+360), Over 5.5 total games (-180) and Christian Yelich for World Series MVP (+2500), all at DraftKings. The series price is from October 23, 2026, and the other three are from October 20 and 21.

Who Is the Favorite to Win World Series MVP This Year?

Jackson Chourio was the DraftKings favorite at +600 on October 21, 2026, ahead of William Contreras (+650), Junior Caminero (+750) and Jacob Misiorowski (+800). We like Christian Yelich at +2500 as a longer narrative pick.

When Does the 2026 World Series Start?

Friday, October 23, 2026, with the Milwaukee Brewers hosting the Tampa Bay Rays at American Family Field. Game 1 starts at 8 p.m. ET on FOX with Jacob Misiorowski facing Nick Martinez, and a Game 7 would be played on October 31.

How Many Games Will the 2026 World Series Go?

We expect six. The World Series is best of seven, so the first team to four wins is champion. Over 5.5 games was -180 at DraftKings on October 20, which means the market expects at least a Game 6 a little under two-thirds of the time.

Who Has Home-Field Advantage in the World Series This Year?

The Milwaukee Brewers, because their 103-59 record beat Tampa Bay’s 98-64. Milwaukee hosts Games 1, 2, 6 and 7, and the Rays host Games 3, 4 and 5 at Tropicana Field.

Have the Brewers or the Rays Ever Won a World Series?

No, so the 2026 World Series will crown a first-time champion. Milwaukee lost its only previous World Series in 1982, and Tampa Bay lost in 2008 and 2020.
