DraftKings scores 4.4 out of 5 on our six-category rubric: the widest betting menu and state map in US sports betting, attached to prices that are rarely the best on the board. In our own July 2026 odds archive (36,645 pregame MLB moneyline snapshots), DraftKings’ average hold was 4.42 percent against a 4.28 percent average across the six regulated books we track, and it posted the best regulated price just 9.8 percent of the time, last of the six. The short version: bet here for breadth, features, and the one-wallet ecosystem, and shop lines when price is all that matters.

DraftKings Scorecard: How We Rated It

DraftKings earns its 4.4 on breadth, not on price. Markets and features is its best category (4.8), and it is not close: no US book covers more sports, more leagues, or more bet types per game, and the same wallet feeds the sportsbook, casino, DFS, and Pick6. Banking, app quality, and trust all score 4.5, backed by $5 minimums, twin 4.8 store ratings, and licenses from 27 regulators.

The weak spot is odds value (4.0), because our own price tracking puts DraftKings behind most of the regulated field. Every category is scored on our published rubric with fixed anchors, one named reviewer, and Editor-in-Chief sign-off, so a 4.4 here means the same thing it means in every other review on this site.

What’s New at DraftKings in 2026

The biggest change is who DraftKings is attached to: since December 1, 2025 it has been the exclusive Official Sportsbook and Odds Provider of ESPN, and those integrations (odds in ESPN content, account linking, a betting tab in the ESPN app) keep rolling out through 2026. The company also crossed a border, launching in Alberta on July 13 as its second Canadian province, and its CFTC-regulated DraftKings Predictions product has been live since December 2025.

This review changed too: it now runs on Rubric v2.0 with a verified fact set, our own pricing data, and an interactive comparison tool. Every change is logged the moment it lands.

DraftKings Odds & Pricing: What Our Data Shows

DraftKings’ baseball prices are slightly looser than the regulated average, and it almost never posts the best number, which is exactly the kind of claim a review should have to prove. We capture sportsbook prices roughly every six hours into our own archive, the same one that grades our public picks track record.

Across 36,645 pregame MLB moneyline snapshots in July 2026, DraftKings’ average hold (the margin built into its two-sided prices) was 4.42 percent against a 4.28 percent average for the six regulated books we track. It posted the best regulated price on just 9.8 percent of the snapshot sides we compared, the lowest share in the panel. Per bet the gap is pennies; over a season of volume it is real money, and a price shopper should know it going in.

DraftKings posted the best regulated MLB moneyline price in 9.8% of our pregame snapshot-side comparisons in July 2026, the lowest share of the six books we track.

Lower hold means more of the betting pool is returned as potential payout. Computed from our append-only odds archive (snapshots roughly every 6 hours; odds data via The Odds API). Full method: how we review and score.

Baseball is the worst of it, though. DraftKings’ pricing looks much better once you leave the diamond: in the same July window it ran a 4.12 percent average hold on UFC moneylines (its tightest market, with the best regulated price 27.3 percent of the time) and 4.17 percent on WNBA games, and it posted the best boxing price on 63.9 percent of our comparisons. Coverage is the other quiet strength: DraftKings quoted 98.9 percent of the 355 MLB games our archive saw in July, so the price is always there even when it is not the sharpest one.

We refresh these numbers with every archive month, and the chart states its sample size for a reason: you should not trust a pricing claim that will not show you its data.

DraftKings Welcome Bonus & Promotions: The Fine Print, Worked Out

DraftKings’ current new-user offer is Bet $5, Get $200 in Bonus Bets Instantly: deposit at least $5, place a first bet of $5 or more, and eight $25 bonus bets hit your account whether that first bet wins or loses. T&Cs apply, and the structure genuinely favors the player compared to the insurance-style offers most rivals run, because there is no losing condition to trigger. The catches are the usual ones: the bonus bets are single-use, they expire in 7 days, and they pay winnings only.

Affiliates market several different DraftKings packages at any given time ($150 and $300 versions were both circulating this month), so treat the in-app promotions page as the final word on what your state gets.

The math on this offer

Bonus bets return winnings only, never the stake. Play one of your $25 bonus bets on a standard -110 line and a win pays about $22.73 in withdrawable cash; a loss pays nothing. Run all eight at -110 and split them 4-4 and you bank roughly $91. That is the realistic shape of the $200 headline: a strong bet-and-get offer for a $5 outlay, not $200 in cash. Use the bonus bets inside the 7-day window and never bet more than you would have anyway.

Past the welcome offer, the promo calendar runs daily odds boosts, profit boosts, and parlay promos, and everything you do feeds Dynasty Rewards: every sportsbook wager, casino spin, and DFS entry earns Crowns across five tiers from Bronze to Onyx. It is not the real-world resort value of MGM’s program, but if you already play DraftKings’ other products, the crossover adds up quietly. As with every offer on this page, terms and conditions apply.

Betting Markets & Sports Coverage

This is the category where DraftKings is the best in the country (4.8, our highest markets score to date). It covers every major US league plus a deep international slate, and the per-game depth is what separates it: more player props, more alternate lines, and more micro-markets (Flash Bets on individual pitches and plays) than any rival board we have used. Same Game Parlays run on more sports than most books support, live betting covers nearly everything, and early cash-out is available on most slips. If a market exists in the US, DraftKings almost certainly posts it.

One Wallet: Casino, DFS, Pick6, and Predictions

The account you open for the sportsbook works across every DraftKings product: DraftKings Casino in the five states where online casino is legal, the daily fantasy contests the company was built on back in 2012, the Pick6 fantasy game, and the CFTC-regulated DraftKings Predictions app. One balance, one login, one rewards ledger. Rivals bolt products together; DraftKings genuinely runs them as one ecosystem, and the company has said the sportsbook and prediction-markets products are headed into a single super app. The casino side gets its full treatment in our online casinos guide.

Mobile App & User Experience

DraftKings’ app holds a 4.8 on the App Store (1.1 million ratings) and a 4.8 on Google Play as of July 2026, the strongest ratings pair in the market, and the day-to-day experience earns them. The bet slip handles same-game parlay legs cleanly, live betting is fast enough for pitch-by-pitch Flash Bets and the Moonshot live MLB feature, and cash-out sits one tap from your open bets.

Our honest criticism is density: DraftKings packs so many markets, boosts, and product tabs into one interface that it can feel like a casino floor when you just want the moneyline. FanDuel remains the cleaner app for a beginner; DraftKings is the deeper one once you know where everything lives. Desktop parity is excellent.

Banking: Deposits, Withdrawals & Payout Speeds

The fastest realistic payout path at DraftKings is PayPal: per DraftKings’ own help center, verified July 28, 2026, PayPal withdrawals typically process within 48 hours, with online banking at 2 to 5 business days and mailed checks at 7 to 10. Deposits are instant across essentially everything with a $5 minimum (bank wires are the $100 exception), and the method list is one of the widest anywhere: PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, debit cards, online banking, gift cards, PayNearMe cash at retail stores, and cash at partner casino cages.

Online banking / ACH$5Yes2-5 business days

Cash at casino cage$5YesSame day where offered
PayPal, banking, check, and cage windows are DraftKings’ stated processing times, verified July 28, 2026; Venmo and debit are typical windows reported by payment guides. Your bank can add time.

Customer Support & Responsible Gambling Tools

Support runs 24/7 through live chat, which is the route we would use for anything urgent; email ([email protected]) handles the slower stuff, and there is no direct phone line, only a call-back option for complex sportsbook and casino issues. That last part is the real gap: when a withdrawal question gets complicated, some bettors want a human on the phone immediately, and DraftKings makes you wait for one.

The responsible gambling side is stronger: deposit, spend, and time limits are self-service in the app, cool-off periods and self-exclusion are easy to find, account statements make your actual spend visible, and the RG resource center links out to state programs and national help lines. Those tools, plus 27 regulator licenses and a Nasdaq listing, are why trust and safety scores 4.5.

Where DraftKings Is Legal

DraftKings’ online sportsbook is live in 27 states plus Washington, DC, the widest US footprint of any book we track: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana (select parishes), Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming, per our July 28, 2026 verification of DraftKings’ own availability page.

Each market runs under that state’s regulator, from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission in DraftKings’ home state to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, and the company also holds a Puerto Rico license and operates in Ontario and Alberta in Canada. Our sports betting guide tracks the state-by-state legal map if yours is not on the list yet.

DraftKings vs. the Competition

Against its two biggest rivals, DraftKings wins on breadth and loses on price. Our July 2026 archive puts FanDuel at a 3.85 percent average MLB moneyline hold versus DraftKings’ 4.42 percent, with BetMGM loosest of the three at 4.51, and FanDuel posted the best regulated price about four times as often as DraftKings did. DraftKings answers with more states, more markets per game, and the one-wallet ecosystem. The full head-to-head lives in our FanDuel vs. DraftKings comparison.

What Makes DraftKings Different

Two things. First, sheer surface area: no US operator combines 27 states plus DC with this many markets per game, so for millions of bettors DraftKings is both the biggest board available and the only major brand available. Second, the ecosystem: the DFS roots, the casino, Pick6, Predictions, and now the ESPN integration all feed one account, which makes DraftKings the closest thing US betting has to a default platform rather than a single app. Whether that platform posts the best price on tonight’s game is a different question, and our data answers it honestly: usually not.

Our Verdict: Should You Use DraftKings?

✅ Pros

  • + Widest betting menu and state map in US sports betting (27 states plus DC)
  • + One wallet across sportsbook, casino, DFS, and Pick6 with Dynasty Rewards
  • + $5 minimums, wide banking menu, and PayPal payouts stated at ~48 hours
  • + 4.8-rated apps on both stores, licensed by 27 US regulators

❌ Cons

  • Posted the best regulated MLB price just 9.8% of the time in our July 2026 data, last of six books
  • MLB hold ran above the regulated-book average in our July 2026 tracking
  • No direct phone support; complex issues wait on a call-back
  • Feature-dense interface feels busy next to FanDuel’s cleaner app

Use DraftKings if you want the biggest board in your state, you play more than one DraftKings product, or you live somewhere its rivals have not reached. Skip it, or pair it with a second app, if you are a pure price shopper: our own data says the better number is usually somewhere else, most often at FanDuel. Compare the full field on our reviews hub.

Our Verdict

4.4
/5 Rating
DraftKings · Rubric v2.0 · re-scored quarterly

DraftKings is the biggest board in US betting: the widest state map, the deepest menu, a genuinely excellent app, and a one-wallet ecosystem nobody matches. Our own pricing data shows the cost of all that breadth, a hold above the panel average and the lowest best-price share of the books we track. A worthy everyday app for breadth-first bettors who shop lines when it counts.

Best for: Widest betting menu and state map, Same Game Parlay variety (SGP+), one-wallet sportsbook + casino + DFS

Play Safe: Gambling should be fun, not stressful. Set limits, stick to your budget, and never chase losses. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 1-800-MY-RESET or visit ncpgambling.org. For more resources, see our Responsible Gambling page.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions bettors actually ask about DraftKings, answered from our verified fact set.

Is DraftKings legit and safe to bet real money with?

Yes. DraftKings is licensed by 27 US regulators, including the Massachusetts Gaming Commission in its home state, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, and the Michigan Gaming Control Board, and DraftKings Inc. trades publicly on the Nasdaq as DKNG. The app carries a full responsible gambling toolkit with deposit limits, cool-offs, and self-exclusion.

Which states can I actually use DraftKings Sportsbook in right now?

As of our July 28, 2026 verification of DraftKings’ own availability page, the online sportsbook is live in 27 states plus Washington, DC, including New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and Missouri. Louisiana allows it in most but not all parishes, and big absences include California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Nevada.

How long does it take to get money out of DraftKings, and what is the fastest method?

PayPal is the fastest common route: DraftKings’ help center says those withdrawals typically process within 48 hours. Online banking takes 2 to 5 business days, mailed checks 7 to 10, and cash pickup at a partner casino cage can be same-day where offered. Individual withdrawals can run longer than the stated windows.

How does the DraftKings Bet $5, Get $200 offer actually work?

Deposit at least $5 and place a first bet of $5 or more, and you receive eight $25 bonus bets instantly, win or lose. The bonus bets are single-use, expire in 7 days, and pay winnings only: a $25 bonus bet at -110 returns about $22.73 in cash when it wins and nothing when it loses. Offer packaging can vary by state and channel, so check the in-app terms. T&Cs apply.

Does DraftKings or FanDuel have better odds?

By our own measurement, FanDuel. Across 36,645 DraftKings and 37,813 FanDuel pregame MLB moneyline snapshots in July 2026, FanDuel’s average hold was 3.85 percent against DraftKings’ 4.42, and FanDuel posted the best regulated price about four times as often. DraftKings answers with more states, a deeper menu, and its one-wallet ecosystem, which is why plenty of bettors keep both apps.

Is the Dynasty Rewards program actually worth anything?

It is if you use more than one DraftKings product. Every sportsbook wager, casino spin, and fantasy entry earns Crowns in the same ledger, across five tiers from Bronze to Onyx, redeemable for bonuses and DK Dollars. As a sportsbook-only perk it is modest, and it should never be the reason you pick a book over better prices elsewhere.
