Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg Prediction (April 11th, 2026)
The light heavyweight title belt will be vacant, no more. Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg will touch gloves this weekend at UFC 327, giving way to a new champion in this weight class.
Prochazka is the slight favorite at DraftKings and other MMA betting sites, but he’s coming in at just -120. He also owns a 5.5-point spread, while there’s no clear lean as to how long this fight will last.
Judging by the finishing ability and raw power of both of these guys, however, I am instantly seeing value with wagers associated with ITD and KO/TKO. But I’ll take a closer look at how these guys match up, highlight my favorite bets, and offer a final Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg prediction you can build your wagers around.

What the Odds Tell Us
The pricing suggests the more savvy Jiri has the edge here, but the odds are clearly paying respect to the surging Ulberg’s power and finishing ability.
Both of these guys are knockout artists, so this bout is very much expected to end early. While the 2.5 total rounds bet catches -115 odds for either side, we’re getting -350 odds for this thing to end before the final bell rings.
A KO/TKO finish is the clear frontrunner at -300, too, and with a whopping 36 knockouts between these guys, I don’t think betting against that feels very wise.
Matchup Preview & Fighter Profiles
Jiri Prochazka
Jiri Prochazka is quite good. He’s been a legit force inside the UFC, going 6-2 since arriving here, with his lone two defeats coming by the hands of the great Alex Pereira. Those were second-round finishes, but they’re two of just four KO losses for Jiri across 37 career MMA fights.
Prochazka obviously can be had, while he also tends to leave himself open to big shots. He also has a strong chin in general and has bounced back from devastating losses every single time.
Jiri followed up his two losses to Pereira by knocking out Aleksandar Rakic in 2024, while he also knocked out both Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree after losing to Alex again in June of 2024.
Equal parts patient and powerful, Prochazka is really good at mixing his game up, working in leg kicks, dropping in perfectly timed spinning elbows, and closing in on his opponent when the time is right.
His most recent matchup with Rountree is a pretty good indicator of where he’s at for this fight, as he waited until Rountree was utterly gassed before unloading punishment and closing the deal.

Carlos Ulberg
Ulberg is not quite as dynamic as Jiri, but he’s just as poised, and he’s arguably even more explosive. Ulberg definitely has the power and closing speed to make Prochazka pay much in the same as Pereira did, but he also lacks much-needed experience.
Ulberg last lost way back in 2021 when Kennedy Nzechukwu got the best of him in a KO win, but he responded by literally never losing again. That’s nine straight wins, and they aren’t against chumps, as he KO’d Alonzo Menifield, outlasted Jan Blachowicz, and finished Dominick Reyes in the first round.
But his resume isn’t as strong – or as long – as his opponent’s. If the power doesn’t catch Jiri early, it’s quite arguable Ulberg could end up getting frustrated or simply run out of runway in regards to having ways to trip Prochazka up.
The quick finish upside is most certainly there, but it’s worth wondering if Ulberg is making too big of a jump too quickly.

Tale of the Tape
| Jiri Prochazka | Carlos Ulberg | |
|---|---|---|
Record | 32-5-1 | 13-1 |
Age | 33 | 35 |
Height | 6’3” | 6’4” |
Reach | 80” | 77” |
Stance | Orthodox | Orthodox |
Style | Striker | Kickboxing |
These fighters are pretty evenly matched in terms of size and styles. Both guys can sprinkle leg kicks into their game plan, while both tend to unload a lot of striking volume. Nobody is hunting takedowns here, while these guys are tough as nails and can take on a good amount of damage.
Jiri has the edge in reach, but it’s worth wondering if Ulberg’s closing speed can make up for it. Ulberg also dishes out more damage in general, but Prochazka’s style could slow things down and limit that output to a degree.
Key Matchup Factors to Watch
These are two very gifted fighters headlining a massive event. Let’s take a close look at the key angles that could decide this one:
- Unorthodox vs. Technical: Jiri does a lot of weird stuff in the cage. He will do random jump strikes, he’ll incorporate spinning elbows, and he’ll just take risks while applying pressure. Ulberg is explosive, but in general, he’s more technical and more controlled.
- Durability vs. Defense: Jiri absorbs a lot of damage. He leaves himself open to unnecessary shots, and this could be a clear soft zone for Ulberg’s power to take over. Or it could just be a trap where Ulberg overcommits and Prochazka makes him pay.
- Pressure vs. Range Control: Jiri is big on pressure, while he’s also patient and picks his spots. Ulberg prefers to manage his distance and stay composed. If Jiri can lure him in and get him to unravel, he could have the upper hand.
Best Bets & Betting Strategy
Check out my top Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg bets at UFC 327:
| Bet | Reasoning | Confidence Level |
|---|---|---|
Under 2.5 Rounds (-115) | There is too much raw power and explosive finishing ability for this thing to get to a third round. Ulberg just dropped Dominick Reyes in round one, and we know Jiri can do the same. | 7/10 |
Jiri Prochazka ML (-120) | I am trusting the slightly younger, more versatile, and more experienced fighter. Jiri’s only UFC blemishes belong to Alex Pereira, and he’s looked fantastic beyond that. | 7/10 |
Method of Victory – KO (-300) | The price isn’t great, but there is going to be a ton of damage unleashed here for both sides. These guys have a combined 36 KOs between them. I think this one is over early, but even if it gets all the way to round 5, we can still safely bet on a finish coming via fists. | 8/10 |

Risk Factors & Things to Watch
Things can go wrong when betting on a high-variance sport like MMA. Here’s why our Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg picks could fail:
- Patient Game: Jiri has scored third-round finishes in his last two fights because he can absorb damage and tire guys out. If he tries that strategy with Ulberg, it’d kill my early finish pick (and it still might fail and kill my Jiri ML bet as well).
- Too Much Power: Ulberg is very explosive, and his punches pack a ton of power. Jiri can handle it, but only to an extent. It’s not crazy to think Ulberg gets him early or simply hangs around and catches him in the later rounds. Depending on when it happens (if it happens), that could derail most of my Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg picks.
The Bottom Line: Jiri Scores Title Belt, KOs Ulberg Early
Carlos Ulberg is a beast. He has the power, volume, and closing speed to make me look very silly. Due to that, I’d definitely look at bets involving inside the distance and method of victory.
But I still see Jiri Prochazka leaning on his experience, toughness, and versatility to get the win. My main Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg prediction is that Jiri’s seasoned game wins out, as he can frustrate Ulberg and tire him out before striking.
The only question is, how long will that take? Jiri’s unconventional style slows the fight down, which creates risk for my Under 2.5 rounds wager. That said, it is one of the chief reasons Ulberg’s explosive nature and volume may not be as scary as many suggest.
Final Prediction Summary
- Method of Victory – Knockout -300 |Confidence: 8/10
- Fight Winner – Jiri Prochazka -120 | Confidence: 7/10
- Total Rounds – Under 2.5 -115 | Confidence: 7/10
