Phantom vs. Rose Unrivaled Prediction (February 27th, 2026)
The 2026 Unrivaled playoff field is set. Everyone that’s in can rest easy, and the two eliminated teams can start saying their goodbyes and prepare for the WNBA season.
Of course, before the Unrivaled playoffs arrive, seeding still needs to be finalized. Some teams could take it easy, but I highly doubt the Phantom will be among them.
The Phantom enter Friday night as the top seed, but a loss could change that. FanDuel has them as understandable 4.5-point favorites to finalize that seeding by topping Team Rose, but nothing is ever a given.
Should you bet on the Phantom to get it done, or can Rose apply pressure and improve their own positioning heading into the playoffs? I’ll consider all avenues as I break down the latest odds, highlight the game’s best bets, and offer a final Phantom vs. Rose prediction.

Early Season Performance & Trends

Rose BC
Team Rose has officially made it to the 2026 Unrivaled playoffs, but they can still improve their seeding with a win and a Breeze loss. The Rose are coached by Nola Henry and feature Angel Reese, Shakira Austin, Lexie Hull, Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, and Sug Sutton.
Reese has only appeared in two games, but is with the team for their playoff run. She’s logged 10 and 17 minutes so far, but could see her role expand going forward.
Team Rose is 6-7 on the year, as they got off to a 3-0 start and originally looked like one of the better teams in the league. They’re just 3-7 since then, but they are coming off a huge win over the Laces (70-66) in their most recent game.
Rose BC have a tough task in taking on the best team in Unrivaled, but they were certainly up to the challenge the last time they faced off, with Rose winning an 84-74 shootout.

Phantom BC
The Phantom have been the best team in the league this year, as they own a stout 10-3 record. A win on Friday night would cement them as the #1 seed and would give them a clear path to the Unrivaled title.
Phantom BC is led by head coach Roneeka Hodges and includes some huge names with Kelsey Plum, Satou Sabally, Natasha Cloud, and Aliyah Boston leading the charge. Tiffany Hayes, Kiki Iriafen, and Dana Evans also round out the rest of the roster.
The Phantom lost their first game of the year, but they’ve been dominant ever since, going 10-2 the rest of the way. They have been in almost all of their losses, as they lost to the Breeze by seven in their opener, while the Laces beat them by just one point.
Head‑to‑Head / Historical Context
The Phantom and Team Rose have met just once this year, with Rose BC pulling off the 84-74 upset. That game was pretty wild when you consider the Rose barely used their bench player and also shot horribly (29%) from deep.
The Rose dominated inside in that game, with Kahleah Copper and Chelsea Gray combining to go 25 of 40 from the floor. They made the team’s only five shots from deep, too.
Team Rose also surprisingly won the rebounding battle and was a bit peskier on defense.
Key Matchup Breakdown
Team Rose has been pretty good offensively on the year, as they come into this rematch ranked 4th in scoring (71.9), while they are not reckless with the ball (3rd fewest turnovers).
Rose BC is paced by Chelsea Gray (25.4 points per game), who has been unstoppable (48%) from deep and has the time to dish out 6.3 assists per game. Kahleah Copper has been a very good second option with 19.3 points per game, while she’s shooting a solid 37% from deep and 47.5% overall.
Shakira Austin gives them a solid two-way threat, as she’s almost averaging a double-double, while newcomer Reese could start eating into her role.
Phantom BC have the second-best scoring offense in Unrivaled (73.5), and they share the rock better than anyone (1st in assists). The Phantom are also very good at taking care of the basketball, ranking 2nd with just seven turnovers per contest.
This squad is paced by Plum, who pours in 21.7 points per game on 38.8% shooting from long range. Plus also dishes out 5.2 assists per game and shoots a solid 49% from the floor.
Boston has been a menace as the team’s second leading scorer (20 ppg), and she’s one of the best rebounders in Unrivaled. The team gets balanced contributions the rest of the way, with Irafen and Hayes also averaging over 11 points per game, and four players shooting better than 34% from three.
Neither of these teams dominate on the glass, but when comparing the two, the Phantom do appear to have the edge. Boston averages over 10 rebounds per game and also blocks 2.2 shots per game.
Angel Reese’s role could spike in this spot. If it does, she could very easily give Team Rose an edge on the glass. For now, though, Boston probably hands the matchup advantage to the Phantom.
The Phantom rank 3rd in blocks per game, but they also commit the second most fouls per contest.
There are some key matchups to watch ahead of this Rose vs. Phantom tilt:
- Rebounding Battle: Boston gives Phantom BC the edge, but the arrival of Reese gives Team Rose a boost. If her minutes increase, it’s possible she tips the scales in favor of Rose BC when it comes to cleaning the glass.
- Three-Point Barrage: Both of these teams have really good scorers, but the Phantom have superior outside shooting. We saw that in the first meeting, and even though it didn’t help them win, it could give them an advantage in the rematch.
- Working Inside: Team Rose dominated inside last time, but banking on that level of efficiency once again feels like a mistake. It remains to be seen how Reese will perform down low if she gets more burn, too. That could either be a huge asset or a deterrent, depending on if her shots around the rim are falling.
Betting Odds & Market Interpretation
Check out the latest Rose vs. Phantom odds at FanDuel:
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
Rose | +4.5 (-113) | +186 | Over 142.5 (-113) |
Phantom | -4.5 (-113) | -245 | Under 142.5 (-113) |
Team Phantom enters as pretty big betting favorites, seeing as they are the best team in Unrivaled. I agree with the spread and moneyline, but it definitely puts bettors in a weird spot.
The game total sounds about right and could be a spot where we obtain easy value. The previous matchup totaled 158 points, after all.
From a Bettor’s Lens
The bets create themselves in this matchup. Team Rose was very good in this spot last time, and they have the goods – plus they added Reese – so I think Rose ATS looks fantastic.
Is anyone eager to bet on the Phantom’s ML? I doubt it. They are still playing to hold onto the top seed in the league, though, so even at -270 they look like a safe bet.
The second best bet in this game is the Over, though. Both teams take care of the ball, have very good isolation scorers, and can heat up from long range. The Over feels like a smash.
Best Bets & Confidence Levels
| Bet | Recommendation | Confidence Level |
|---|---|---|
Rose ATS +4.5 (-113) | Team Rose won the first meeting and has a lot to play for. Look for them to work the ball inside and keep the pressure on the Phantom in the rematch. | 6/10 |
Over 142.5 (-113) | Both offenses have a nice ceiling, with the Phantom leading the charge. Team Rose can do serious damage inside, while the Phantom can light it up from deep. I see another high-scoring shootout coming. | 6/10 |
Phantom vs Rose odds show a 142.5 total after the first meeting hit 158 points. Track real-time odds and find our trusted sports betting sites here.
Final Score Prediction & Closing Thoughts
Final Score Prediction: Team Phantom 80, Team Rose 75
If the spread was any tighter, I’d probably stay away from it or even hop on Team Phantom. I like where it’s at, though, and Rose looks good against the spread when you consider everything in this matchup.
For one, they handled the Phantom pretty nicely the first time around. They also got reinforcements, looked solid in their last game, and have everything they need to give Team Phantom trouble in the rematch.
On top of all that, Rose BC has an incentive to play hard as they push to get the 4th seed for the playoffs. If you’re looking for a straight-up Phantom vs. Rose prediction, I do think the better team wins. However, their ML is not that appealing at -270, and I think Rose is good enough to give them a fight.
The Over is a fine secondary bet you target with the ATS pick, or by itself. There’s just too much offensive upside here, and the first meeting was electrifying.
