Wings vs. Valkyries Game 3 Prediction (10/2/2026)
Dallas has played at Chase Center three times this season and lost by 11, 8 and 24. Game 3 goes back to San Francisco on Friday night after Arike Ogunbowale’s 45 points forced it, and the home floor is why we are laying the number: Golden State -7.5 (-112) at DraftKings, a one-unit play rather than a big one.
The Valkyries went 17-5 at home in the regular season with the league’s best defensive rating (100.6). Dallas needed a WNBA playoff-record scoring night, 32 made free throws and overtime to beat them in Arlington. We also like Ogunbowale to clear 15.5 points again, and we explain below why those two bets can pull in opposite directions.
Chase Center, San Francisco, CA
Golden State Has Won Every Game Against Dallas in San Francisco
Three for three, and every one of those wins would have covered tonight’s spread. The full 2026 series, from the Valkyries’ Basketball-Reference schedule and the playoff box scores:
| Game | Site | Final | Ogunbowale pts |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 17 (regular season) | Chase Center | GSV 91-80 | 21 |
| Aug. 7 (regular season) | Arlington | GSV 94-76 | 5 |
| Aug. 17 (regular season) | Chase Center | GSV 78-70 | 17 |
| Game 1, Sept. 27 | Chase Center | GSV 104-80 | 10 |
| Game 2, Sept. 30 | Arlington | DAL 108-100 (OT) | 45 |
Game 1 was the cleanest version of the matchup. Golden State made 18 of 36 threes, turned it over four times and won the second quarter 37-11. Jessica Shepard went 0-of-7 for Dallas, and Ogunbowale played only 25 minutes once the game got away. We backed the Valkyries in the June meeting for the same reason we are backing them now: this team plays far better defense at home than Dallas can solve for 40 minutes.
Can the Wings Get to the Line 37 Times Again?
Probably not, and that is the main reason we trust Game 1 more than Game 2. The Game 2 box score shows how far Dallas sat above its normal shape:
- Free throws: Dallas went 32-of-37, with 37 attempts against 64 shots. Over the regular season the Wings drew roughly one attempt for every four shots.
- Threes: 12-of-23 (52.2%) for a team that shot 34.6% from deep all year.
- Fouls: Golden State was called for 28, and Ogunbowale alone went 16-of-18 at the line.
- Still tied: with all of that, regulation ended 93-93 on her corner three with 4.1 seconds left, per ESPN.
Her 45 points broke the playoff record of 42 that Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart and Angel McCoughtry shared. Paige Bueckers, who scored 21 on 9-of-10 in Game 1, shot 3-of-13. Gabby Williams answered with a career-high 36 for Golden State and then went 0-of-6 in the final 1:31 of overtime.
Why Take -7.5 Now Instead of Waiting for -8
Because the number has already been to -8.5 and come back. Our odds archive holds 584 captures for this game, and DraftKings has moved through three stops:
- Thursday, 12:02 a.m. ET: first post at Valkyries -6.5 (-110), moneyline -245 / +200, total 156.5. It was -7.5 ten minutes later.
- Thursday, 8:52 a.m. ET: -8.5 (-102), moneyline -345 / +275, and as high as -355 that afternoon.
- Friday, 12:59 a.m. ET: back to -7.5 (-112), moneyline -310 / +250.
Pinnacle, the offshore book we track as a reference price, deals Golden State -8 at -110 this morning, and Caesars has -8 at -105. Taking -7.5 at DraftKings costs two cents more than Pinnacle’s price and gets us half a point. For reference, Game 1 closed at Valkyries -7.5 and they won by 24.
Kalshi Prices Golden State at 75 Cents
That is a little higher than the sportsbooks. Kalshi’s Game 3 contract trades Golden State at 75 to 76 cents, with about 43,800 contracts traded on each side. With the vig removed, the DraftKings moneyline (-310 / +250) implies about 72.6% for the Valkyries and Pinnacle’s (-356 / +276) about 74.6%, which you can check with our no-vig calculator. None of those markets has Golden State below 72%. The spread question is how often a team in that range wins by eight or more, and Golden State’s home record answers part of it: 13 of its 17 regular-season home wins came by eight or more.
Best Player Prop: Ogunbowale Over 15.5 Points
Take Arike Ogunbowale over 15.5 points at -106 at FanDuel, where DraftKings asks -113 and Caesars -112 on the same line. She scored 16 or more in 25 of her 44 regular-season games and in 7 of her last 10.
Her season average was 15.3, so the line sits right on her typical night. What should move it up in a win-or-go-home game is volume: she took 23 shots in Game 2 against a regular-season average of 12.3, and with Azzi Fudd and Alanna Smith out again, most of Dallas’s shot creation runs through her and Bueckers. At -106 she needs to clear the number about 51.5% of the time to break even.
The counterpoint is Game 1. When Golden State pulled away, she played 25 minutes and finished with 10 points, which is exactly the game our spread bet is hoping for. These are two separate one-unit bets on the same game, and a Valkyries blowout probably loses the prop. Size them as two exposures, not one.
Our Card: Valkyries -7.5 at DraftKings, No Total
Lay -7.5 at -112 at DraftKings. A Golden State win by exactly eight, the margin of the Aug. 17 game at Chase Center, cashes this and only pushes at Caesars’ -8. Any Valkyries win by seven or fewer loses it. We are passing on the total even though both series games blew past it (184 points against a 154.5 close in Game 1, 186 in regulation against 157.5 in Game 2). Both games were played at a normal pace for these teams, about 74 possessions, and the overs came from hot shooting and free throws that we do not expect to repeat.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions bettors are asking before Friday’s deciding game in San Francisco.
Why Lay 7.5 Points With Golden State After Dallas Won Game 2?
Because Game 3 is at Chase Center, where Golden State beat Dallas by 11, 8 and 24 this season. Dallas won Game 2 at home only after going 32-of-37 at the line, making 52% of its threes and needing overtime.
Is the Valkyries Moneyline Worth Betting at -310?
Not for us. At -310 Golden State has to win about 75.6% of the time to break even, and the vig-removed DraftKings price implies about 72.6%. Laying -7.5 at -112 needs a margin instead, at a 52.8% break-even.
Can Arike Ogunbowale Get to 16 Points Again After Scoring 45 in Game 2?
We think so, at -106 over 15.5 at FanDuel. She scored 16 or more in 25 of 44 regular-season games and had 21 and 17 in her two regular-season games at Chase Center. The risk is a blowout like Game 1, when she played 25 minutes and scored 10.
Why Not Bet the Over After Both Games Went Way Over the Total?
The overs came from shooting and free throws, not from a faster game. Both games ran at about 74 possessions, Golden State’s normal pace, and the Valkyries allowed 75.1 points per game in the regular season.
