6 NFL Win Totals You’re Sleeping on for 2026 (Underrated Over & Under Bets)
Betting on NFL win totals is easily one of the best ways to find value at the top NFL betting sites. This market rewards patience and bettors who seek context, and long-term analysis wins out routinely. Six numbers on the 2026 board stand out to me: the Over on the Atlanta Falcons (6.5), Buffalo Bills (10.5), Chicago Bears (9.5), Denver Broncos (9.5) and Jacksonville Jaguars (8.5), plus the Under on the Cleveland Browns (5.5).
The public often gravitates toward Super Bowl contenders or rebuilding franchises, but the meat and potatoes of NFL win total betting is in the middle. The idea is to target teams that are a bit better than anyone gives them credit for, or teams on a downward trend that the market has not caught up to yet.
Vegas does price things tightly and the books are usually ahead of the curve, but there is still value at every turn. Looking for the best NFL win totals for 2026? I have six that stand out above all the rest, and I will detail why you need to attack them sooner rather than later.
2026 NFL Win Total Quick Picks
My six best NFL win total bets for 2026 are the Falcons Over 6.5, Bills Over 10.5, Bears Over 9.5, Broncos Over 9.5 and Jaguars Over 8.5, plus the Browns Under 5.5. Here is the full board with the price on each side and a confidence rating on every call. All numbers are DraftKings prices as of late July.
| Team | Win Total | Odds | Lean | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atlanta Falcons | 6.5 | -146 | Over | 5/5 |
| Buffalo Bills | 10.5 | -120 | Over | 4/5 |
| Chicago Bears | 9.5 | +100 | Over | 4/5 |
| Cleveland Browns | 5.5 | +110 | Under | 5/5 |
| Denver Broncos | 9.5 | -115 | Over | 5/5 |
| Jacksonville Jaguars | 8.5 | -140 | Over | 5/5 |
Win totals are not uniform across the industry. A team sitting at 8.5 in one shop can be 9.5 in another, and that half-win gap decides tickets far more often than the price attached to it. Confirm both the number and the juice at two or three books before you fire.
How We Evaluated These Win Totals
We graded every team against eight repeatable inputs: division difficulty, strength of schedule, quarterback play, offensive ceiling, defensive aptitude, the previous year’s results, the state of the conference, and coaching or roster turnover. Value is always in the eye of the beholder, but you should still have a sound betting process that leans on strong reasoning.
Every new NFL season brings roster turnover, coaching changes, injuries, schedule swings, and natural paths to positive or negative regression. Narratives and expectations can bog teams down or inflate their price to the point where betting their win total becomes a lot easier than you would think.
For each team, we weighed the following factors:
- Division difficulty and how many winnable games it produces
- Overall strength of schedule across all 17 games
- Quarterback play, including health and backup quality
- Offensive ceiling when everything clicks
- Defensive aptitude, especially pass rush
- Previous year’s success and how repeatable it looks
- State of the conference and the playoff math it creates
- Coaching and roster changes from the offseason
All of this is baked into each bet. The softer the division, the easier the path a team has to hitting the Over. A weak strength of schedule makes that call clearer still, while teams get understandable boosts if they have a top-flight passer, a talented offense, a stingy defense, and continuity within the coaching staff or the roster as a whole. If you want the mechanics behind how these markets get priced in the first place, our guide to NFL futures and win totals breaks it down.
Any single piece of criteria can outweigh the rest, but the goal is for the majority of these factors to combine and give you six strong NFL win total picks you can feel good about.
Atlanta Falcons (Over 6.5 Wins)
Take the Falcons Over 6.5 wins at -146. Atlanta won eight games last season with worse coaching and no real answer at quarterback, and the roster around the position got better while the division stayed as flat as it has been in years.
Why the Market May Be Too Low
This feels like a really low line. I get it for two reasons: the Dirty Birds are breaking in new head coach Kevin Stefanski, and they have an unsettled quarterback situation.
The current win total has Atlanta needing seven wins to produce a winning bet, and that is one fewer win than what they managed last year. The Falcons went 8-9 in 2025 despite inferior coaching, and they closed the season on a four-game winning streak.
Tua Tagovailoa is in the driver’s seat to run an immensely talented offense that features Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts. Atlanta locked up both London and Pitts on extensions this offseason. More importantly, this was already a competitive team, and the NFC South is the softest division in football. All four teams finished 8-9 last year, with Carolina taking the title on a tiebreaker.
Biggest Concern
Quarterback play is the only thing that can derail this train. Tagovailoa is forever a question mark. He can play at a high level, but he can also be inconsistent and he is injury-prone.
The big question is whether the Falcons can win with him, or whether they would survive if forced to turn back to Michael Penix Jr., who is still working his way back from a partially torn ACL.
Verdict
Lean: Over 6.5. The market has downgraded the Falcons even though they are in a soft division and appear to have made upgrades under center and within their coaching staff. We are not buying them as a playoff winner or division champion. They just need to win seven games.
Buffalo Bills (Over 10.5 Wins)
Back the Bills Over 10.5 wins at -120. Buffalo has cleared this exact number in each of the last six seasons, still has Josh Allen, and added D.J. Moore to an offense that did not need much help.
Why the Market May Be Too Low
This is honestly an appropriate win total line. The value lies in the fact that other teams carry even higher win totals and we know exactly what this Bills team is capable of.
Buffalo made a lateral coaching change that could end up being for the better, and probably will not sabotage them. It is still all about Josh Allen, and the Bills added to their dynamic offense by trading a second-round pick to Chicago for D.J. Moore.
The Bills also play in an AFC East where the bottom half is genuinely bad. The Jets (5.5) and Dolphins (4.5) carry two of the four lowest win totals on the entire board, which leaves the New England Patriots as Buffalo’s only real threat. That serves as a launchpad for a team that has hit this Over six years running.
Biggest Concern
The coaching change could be an issue. Sean McDermott caught heat for his defenses imploding come playoff time, but he otherwise knew how to lead a winner.
Insert former offensive coordinator Joe Brady, who provides a familiar voice and keeps the offense intact, but is unproven in terms of leadership and in-game execution. Brady could be just what the doctor ordered, or he could be the cause of a complete unraveling.
Verdict
Lean: Over 10.5. Bet on Josh Allen. The coaching change is a toss-up, and Brady at least keeps the good thing going. The rest comes down to the AFC East staying thin at the bottom. New England reached Super Bowl LX and lost 29-13 to Seattle, so the Patriots could also deal with a hangover year, which would give Buffalo room to run.
Chicago Bears (Over 9.5 Wins)
Take the Bears Over 9.5 wins at +100, the best price of the six. Chicago went 11-6 and won the NFC North last season, and getting a plus number on a defending division champion with Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams still in place is the kind of pricing worth attacking.
Why the Market May Be Too Low
The NFC North is stacked, but the Bears were the cream that rose to the top last year. They took the division at 11-6, then beat Green Bay in the Wild Card round for their first playoff win since the 2010 season before losing to the Rams in overtime in the Divisional Round.
Ben Johnson has changed the culture in a hurry, and the future is bright in the Windy City. He is a big part of that, but so is former No. 1 pick Caleb Williams, who showed an undying will to win late in games and pushed Chicago to within a possession of the NFC title game.
The Bears have a balanced offense, top-shelf coaching, and a rising defense. The only thing possibly holding them back is a random cliff dive by Williams.
Biggest Concern
The schedule, and then the rest of the NFC North. Chicago drew the hardest slate in the league for 2026, with its opponents carrying a combined .550 winning percentage and seven playoff teams on the docket. That is a real tax on a 10-win projection.
There is also lingering concern over accuracy issues with Williams, and the offense shipped D.J. Moore to Buffalo, which thins out the receiving room. Then there is the division itself, where the Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and even the Minnesota Vikings all theoretically have division-winning upside. Our full breakdown of the 2026-27 NFL division odds digs into that race.
Verdict
Lean: Over 9.5. You usually need 10 wins to make the playoffs, so the question bettors need to ask is whether they really believe Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams will not be playing games in January.
I do not believe for a second this pairing is about to regress. Chicago is on the cusp of something big, and to realize it they will need to win 10 or more games. Getting them at even money to do exactly that is the most generous price on this list.
Cleveland Browns (Under 5.5 Wins)
Play the Browns Under 5.5 wins at +110. Cleveland won five games last season, then fired the head coach and traded away its best defensive player, which is not the profile of a team about to jump.
Why This Number Feels Aggressive
The only things the Browns had going for them were their coaching and a stingy defense. They made the intriguing choice of firing head coach Kevin Stefanski and then trading Myles Garrett to the Rams in June for Jared Verse and three picks, including Los Angeles’ 2027 first-rounder.
Now the team is actually considering turning back to Deshaun Watson, who is competing with Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel for the job. Even if Watson does not win it, the alternatives are not any better. This team is drafting well and putting itself in position to land a legit franchise quarterback next year, so I am missing why the sportsbooks are pricing them like a team that might win six games.
Biggest Concern
There is a small chance that new head coach Todd Monken knows what he is doing and makes the most of what is surely his only crack at running a team on his own. Starting Watson is Cleveland’s best shot at competing, too, so that odd pairing just might lead to better than expected success.
The weird part? Cleveland should have zero interest in winning games right now. They own their own first-round pick for 2027 plus the one they got from the Rams, and they are very clearly the worst team in their division.
Verdict
Lean: Under 5.5. Monken is a coaching downgrade. He is a good offensive coordinator, but he has zero experience running a team and he has precious little to work with. The long-term future is starting to look brighter in Cleveland, but this team went 3-14 and then 5-12 over the past two seasons, and that was with a better coach and Myles Garrett.
Denver Broncos (Over 9.5 Wins)
Back the Broncos Over 9.5 wins at -115. Denver went 14-3 and earned the AFC’s No. 1 seed last season, and the only reason it did not reach a Super Bowl was a quarterback injury that has since healed.
Why the Market May Be Too Low
Bo Nix broke his ankle on the second-to-last play of overtime in Denver’s 33-30 Divisional Round win over Buffalo, and that unfortunate event is what kept the Broncos out of Super Bowl LX. Backup Jarrett Stidham drew the AFC Championship start and Denver lost 10-7 to New England in blizzard conditions. Before that, the Broncos were busy winning 14 games and running away with the AFC.
Nothing has changed to suggest something similar cannot happen again. Denver owns the best pass rush in football, having tied a franchise record with 63 sacks last season, Nix is back from surgery, and Sean Payton has the experience to push this bunch over the top.
Much like the Bears, the Broncos will need 10 wins to get into the playoffs comfortably. They have done that in each of the last two years and there is little to suggest they will not again.
Biggest Concern
Nix’s health is a small reason for worry, while the AFC West could be argued as loaded. The Las Vegas Raiders are probably one to two years from being truly annoying, but the Los Angeles Chargers are legit and the Kansas City Chiefs could always bounce back.
Even so, Nix should be at full strength and this still feels like Denver’s division to lose. Even if the Bolts do rise up, a 10-win season should be in the cards for one of the best teams in pro football.
Verdict
Lean: Over 9.5. Denver looks like a genuine Super Bowl contender again. The Broncos are not favored to win their division this year, but this is a tough team to beat at full strength. Another playoff run looks very likely, which makes the Over the stronger side of their win total, too.
Jacksonville Jaguars (Over 8.5 Wins)
Take the Jaguars Over 8.5 wins at -140. Jacksonville went 13-4 and won the AFC South last season, so the market is effectively asking whether a team that just won 13 games can manage nine.
Why Everyone Is Overlooking This Team
How and why are the Jaguars sitting here with an 8.5-win total? This team took over the AFC South with a 13-4 record last year, closing on an eight-game winning streak for their most victories since 1999 and revealing a dynamic offense and an opportunistic defense along the way.
Trevor Lawrence broke out in Liam Coen’s first year as head coach and has a positively loaded offense to work with, making a rash of random injuries the only real hiccup for a young and rapidly maturing bunch.
I can understand souring on the Jaguars as Super Bowl threats after they wilted late in a 27-24 Wild Card loss to the Bills. But betting on them to fail to get nine wins? No thanks.
Biggest Concern
Natural regression is the main thing to worry about here. Winning 13 games again will not be easy, plus the AFC in general is stacked up top.
Jacksonville is not definitively better than the Bills, Patriots, Ravens, Texans, Broncos, or Chargers, but they are awfully close at the very worst. Just how far down they rank could have a huge say in whether they deliver on this bet.
Verdict
Lean: Over 8.5. The Jaguars are well-coached and they are at worst the second-best team in their division. I do not think they will go 13-4 again, but they have arrived. A 10-win season is very much on the table, and that makes a nine-win requirement look light.
Biggest Factors That Move NFL Win Totals During August
Quarterback health, offensive line injuries, and training camp position battles move NFL win totals more than anything else in August. The betting market does not stop moving once sportsbooks release these numbers, and August often produces the biggest line adjustments before Week 1.
There is a lot to track before you bet on NFL win totals this year:
- Monitor quarterback injuries and health updates.
- Watch for offensive line injuries or major depth chart changes.
- Follow training camp reports for breakout players and emerging starters.
- Track position battles, especially at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver.
- Pay attention to preseason snap counts and player usage rather than final scores.
- Monitor contract holdouts, extensions, and trade rumors involving key players.
- Evaluate rookie performances to see which newcomers could make an immediate impact.
- Compare win totals across multiple sportsbooks to find the best number.
- Track line movement throughout August to see which direction the market is drifting.
- Lock in your bet before the market moves if you strongly favor an Over or Under.
Quarterback injuries naturally have the greatest impact, but offensive line setbacks can be nearly as significant. Just look at the Chargers last year, where the splits with and without star tackle Joe Alt are damning.
Los Angeles went 5-1 in the six games Joe Alt started in 2025 and 1-2 without him, and the offense fell from a top-five unit by expected points added per play to roughly 22nd once he went down. Alt then needed season-ending ankle surgery. That is one lineman, and it is the kind of news that moves a win total by a full game.
Sharp bettors also pay close attention to training camp reports, position battles, preseason usage, and contract situations involving star players. Trades and holdouts can shift projections overnight, while positive reports surrounding rookie classes frequently move betting markets before those players ever appear in a regular-season game.
For that reason, it is worth tracking line movement throughout training camp. If you already like a team’s Over or Under, waiting too long could cost you valuable closing line value.
Having said all of that, you may not find better prices than where these teams sit right now. That certainly applies to these six NFL win total picks. DraftKings even lets you toggle between the Over and Under on each of them and bet as you wish, but I would pounce on most of these before that option is gone.
Best NFL Win Total Betting Strategy
The best NFL win total strategy is to shop every number, stay disciplined about how many teams you back, and avoid stacking multiple bets that need the same games to break the same way. One of the biggest mistakes bettors make is assuming every attractive-looking number deserves action.
The numbers for Buffalo, Denver, and Jacksonville read as generously priced to me. The totals attached to the Rams, Ravens, or Seahawks do not move me the same way, and there is no rule saying you have to have an opinion on all 32.
In reality, discipline is often more important than finding winners. Start by shopping lines at multiple online sportsbooks before placing any wager. Even a half-win difference can determine whether a ticket wins or loses over a 17-game season, which is the same math that governs any over/under bet.
- Live in the middle of the board. Three of our bets are on strong teams, but the 5.5 to 8.5 range is where the softest numbers usually sit.
- Do not load up exclusively on Overs. Public bettors gravitate toward optimistic projections. Our slate leans Over, so diversify if you are placing a lot of these.
- Watch divisional overlap. Backing multiple teams from the same division to beat expectations creates conflicting outcomes, because they play each other twice.
- Do not overreact to preseason games. Coaches rarely game plan, starters play limited snaps, and final scores have little predictive value.
Instead of chasing August box scores, pay closer attention to player usage, health updates, offensive line continuity, and quarterback performance. Those are the inputs that actually carry into September.
A win total is a five-month hold. One September quarterback injury can kill a ticket you cannot get out of, so size these smaller than you would a single-game bet and treat them as a season-long position rather than a weekend play.
Betting on NFL Win Totals in 2026
The best 2026 NFL win total bets come from teams the public is not thinking about in July, which is why the Falcons and Jaguars lead my card. Last year’s standings are only one piece of the puzzle when evaluating these numbers.
Regression, coaching changes, schedule strength, quarterback play, and roster continuity often matter far more than public perception. You can check every record referenced above against the official 2025 NFL standings before you decide which side you want.
The best opportunities usually come from teams the betting public is not paying close attention to, whether that is an underrated playoff contender or a popular favorite being asked to clear an unrealistic number. For me, that is where a team like the Falcons comes in. There are other spots where the market has lulled and we can back strong teams that feel under-priced.
Take the Over on the Atlanta Falcons at 6.5 wins, the Buffalo Bills at 10.5, the Chicago Bears at 9.5, the Denver Broncos at 9.5 and the Jacksonville Jaguars at 8.5, and take the Under on the Cleveland Browns at 5.5. The Bears at even money and the Falcons at seven wins are the two I would place first.
As training camp unfolds, keep monitoring injuries, roster battles, and line movement before locking in your favorite plays. The numbers you see today will not all be there in September.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still working through the 2026 NFL win totals board? Here are quick answers to the questions bettors ask most about this market.
How does an NFL win total bet actually work?
You bet whether a team will finish the 17-game regular season with more wins (the Over) or fewer wins (the Under) than the number the sportsbook posts. If a team is listed at 8.5 and you take the Over, you need nine regular-season wins for the ticket to cash. Playoff games do not count, and a tie counts as half a win.
Is it better to bet NFL win totals now or wait until closer to Week 1?
Bet now if you already have a strong opinion, because the best prices usually exist before training camp news starts moving the market. Waiting only helps if you are hunting for a specific number to move in your favor, and one quarterback injury can swing a total by a full game before you get the chance.
Which 2026 NFL win total do you like the most?
The Chicago Bears Over 9.5 at +100 is the best price on my card. Chicago won 11 games and the NFC North last season with Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams, and getting a defending division champion at even money to clear 10 wins is unusual, even with the hardest schedule in the league.
Why would a team like the Browns be a good Under bet if they might improve?
Because improvement and win totals are different questions. Cleveland won five games in 2025, fired head coach Kevin Stefanski, traded Myles Garrett to the Rams, and holds two 2027 first-round picks, so the roster and the incentives both point down. The bet only asks whether they reach six wins, not whether the franchise is headed somewhere better.
Does a tie or a canceled game affect my NFL win total bet?
A tie counts as half a win at every major sportsbook, which is why totals ending in .5 are so common. If a game is canceled outright and the league does not make it up, most books grade win totals on the final official standings, so check the house rules on your specific book before you bet.
How many NFL win totals should I bet in one season?
Most bettors are better off with a handful of well-researched positions than a full board of 32. Keep an eye on divisional overlap, since backing several teams in the same division to beat expectations creates conflicting outcomes when they play each other twice, and remember that your money is tied up until January.
